What Is A Good Dry Silica Additive for Plants?

RAW SILICA | 45% SILICON DIOXIDE | PH NEUTRAL BIOGENIC SILICA

The flowable silica from RAW is one of our favorites.  It is highly compatible with a wide range of growing media and water chemistry. Its powdered form is shelf stable and easy to apply.  It goes into solution rapidly and should always be added before Calmag and base nutrients.

Being flowable, a portion of the solution is immediately available and a second serving lingers in the soil for later.  Silica is abundant in most native soils but is quickly assimilated by fast growing plants in a container environment.

We have seen sturdier more resilient plants in side by side trials against potassium silicate products. Being PH neutral we use less buffer with the RAW silica compared to other options. Silica remains most available between 5.5 and 7.0 PH. A small proportion will settle without agitation, so we recommend applying mixes with it within a half hour. It should be used at a low and consistent rate from seed/ clone through around week 6-7 of flower phase.

RAW Silica is compatible with soil microbes and is quickly used in a no-till or living soil style bed.  In coco coir and rockwool, it helps lower the surface tension and functions similar to a  wetting-agent. When we use RAW Silica the plants need less staking and trellis.  They are also more capable of withstanding high wind, heat cold and pest pressure.

There are many silica products on the market but NPK RAW Silica is a great dry option and has many advantages.
